You're posting this on a layoff board. Many are no longer with the company nor have the option to choose. Your comments are extremely misplaced and just plain ignorant.
There are very few who really care what others are doing for their layoffs. What matters is that if you work here, this is how you're treated. These comparisons do nothing to change that fact. If you don't like how you are being treated, you are an adult and can go elsewhere.
Comparisons only show how other companies have treated their personnel better via better severance, even while laying off people. We all understand that in a free market system, layoffs are inevitable but at least other companies don’t hide behind PIPs but announce formal layoffs and pay their people better.
Comparisons are how free market system works. There is competition to choose the best products, employees or employers.

And Dollar Tree is about to buy out Amazon and convert it to all brick and mortar. Heard it was in the works. Unimpeachable source. Gets most of his tips from troll boards, so has to be good.
ConocoPhillips will do a hostile take over of XOM and then sell off Everything not related to upstream. Heard it may already be in the works...
And what method did they use to layoff people Jeeves? Do you know? I’m sure whatever it is the people getting laid off probably don’t like it genius.

LOL most of Exxon’s problems have been upstream
But ConocoPhillips is a better company.
Not to worry, ExxonMobil will have another reduction in workforce. Dare I not to say “layoff”. They were so proud of how well (?) the last was executed they are planning for another. Management going above and beyond to make Dallas proud.
ConocoPhillips is an upstream company. They don't have the baggage that exxonmobil has to carry.
Also. Good for them! Too bad you don't work there and get the measly severance that you did get. I got an idea! If you weren't laid off, you should go over there and join their team!
They also had great 401k match, 1% contribution -> 9% employer match
