When something bad happens - change

Look at the big picture. When something bad happens something good is also going to happen. But you have to prepare for what is coming. If you think the next 20 years will be like the last 20 years you will get destroyed. When you go to the grocery store to buy milk you check the expiration date. When did you last check the expiration date for your skill, role, industry?

I think this person is in EMIT, talking about hundreds of useless certificates they can collect. At the end, they are worth less than the paper they are printed on. So sure, pay some certificate mill and be happy with your newest skill :)

EM continues to provide sweet nectar to those employees who contribute.

First you missed the point.

Second skills can and do expire. As do roles. As do industries.

ExxonMobil has gone rotten

First, skills are not milk and there is something called "experience". 2nd, something bad happening does not necessarily mean something good is waiting. For oil, it is downhill since 2010, so you are better off with another industry.
