Mo is EVP at AT&T Business, he runs this shop and was thought of as being next in line to Anne Chow to be CEO.
An hour ago it was announced that he will leave AT&T Business and be a "SVP" reporting to Chris Sambar (who reports to Scott Mair) . He is replacing Bloodworth .
From being responsible for P&L for a $30 billion org to building out mobility infrastructure, and losing EVP status seems like a demotion.
I do not know Mo directly. I saw lots of comments about his kindness and caring about people. That’s thing, AT&T doesn’t like this at all. If you care about people/employees then you are the company enemy.

Mo is a nice guy, but last time he was in Network he had a much smaller job and local responsibilities. He's basically been playing in Marketing and Tech without any real responsibilities for more than five years. Building out 5G and fiber for the entire company is a whole different thing- especially when it's being promoted as the cash engine. And Stankey can put pressure on a person that can break the best. Good luck, Mo- You're gonna need it..

+1 - Mo is a kind man, a real people leader - he leads with empathy and care. I don't care what anyone thinks, but my experience of the man is that he is a super leader.

I promise you, moving from AT&T Business to Network Engineering & Operations (NEO) is not a demotion of any kind and more of a promotion. Business has been nothing more than a belittled stepchild since SBC gobbled everything up years ago. I mean seriously, it took them 15 friggin years after absorbing the likes of Bellsouth to finally move ALL business engineering and operations into its own silo within ACC. Any id–t could have told them that right off the bat years ago. The one constant I’ve witnessed in 21 years is that Network Engineering & Operations (Network Ops, TP&E, OSPE, ACE, CNO, ATS Mobility, etc) is king of the hill in ACC and always will be. If someone offered me an equivalent position in NEO today, I would take it and move without question.
I see a lot of negative comments about Mo. However, not one mention of his kindness, ethical character, pleasant disposition and his genuine concern and consideration for others. I do not know much about his background but it was refreshing to see an Executive who appeared to actually care about people for a change. He made an effort in acknowledging employees and rewarding them even if just a champagne bottle of M&M's at least he made an effort which is a rarity these days.
He was a VP in network before, during the the town halls, you can literally hear the moans from the engineers in cubicles. This guy has not respect from the rank and file, he is nothing but a talking suit.

Mo is geared to be the next CEO. Mark my words 10 years from now. This demotion is a small step towards that.
hopefully they'll get rid of him. Don't know who he is but if he's in any kind of high title area, it's about time they got rid of more of that type instead of pushing the blame game down.

Where do you think he came from? He's simply moving back. Those that have been in C&E for a while know this guy. He's been trying to be a quasi hipster on LinkedIn for a few years now, it didn't work.

When you look at some of these people, it's impossible to imagine how they got to where they are.
