I’m leaving next week. Finally. After more than 15 years of working in this company.
None of the colleagues I met when I first came here work in this company anymore, they all took their ideas to the competitors.
I wonder if they even care that people are leaving or do they think it’s actually OK, that cheaper and inexperienced workers can bring this company more profit?

IT is a cost center. They care about the money. Nothing else. If they felt IT helped them making money vs just being a cost center they would change. They don't. That won't change here.

Saying intelligent people are a dime a dozen calls your self out for not working with the public. People are stupid asf.
Good luck with your plans. Rather than living in nostalgia, go live your life beyond a single company. We are in 2021. Intelligent people are a dime a dozen, and yet wisdom comes from years of learning and has its place.
Today human beings need to do a lot more as roles and functions are becoming a commodity. Companies do what they need to survive, and it has always been the survival of the fittest.
A generation ago, workers changed 3-6 jobs in their lifetime. We live in an time where the current and future generations will be changing employs far frequently. Embrace the future today. Stay hungry, keep learning, and move forward!
