Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

How much multitasking is required of you?

Multitasking is OK, but what is expected of most employees (at least in my case here) is next level multitasking, meaning super-multitasking that simply cannot be tolerated by one person without suffering from multiple stress-related illnesses.
What particularly bothers me is that some say that multitasking is inseparable from retail. Come on, I’ve worked at other companies as well, but nowhere was multitasking required to this extent.

I have to drop for the whole club including venders, unload incoming trucks. Stock an entire side of the club. Go outside and get carts from frequent cart dudes calling out. Everyone thinks I’m a team leader and so they constantly ask questions on how to do their job . Which I have the experience to give them advice. Meanwhile the real team leader hide and play around. Multi tasking is my gift and curse at the same time.

"suffering from multiple stress-related illnesses." Only if you care. I stepped down, lost 1.20. So much better. Same two days in a row off, week after week, lots less stress. They can kiss the round, brown hole .....well, you know what I mean.

Merch lead is basically 5 or 6 previous lead jobs combined plus having keys to the building and you basically can’t call in otherwise no one can get in the building at 4 am.

Yet you have to drive forklift for people in the fresh areas who make several dollars more per hour than you.
