Our lovely store manager decided to fire over 30 people in just two days! Not only that! He’s on a lovely paid vacation while the store falls apart. Did I mention an associate recently died? And after firing people the managers gave out mental health hotline numbers. Really proud of Walmart and sams club. Can’t wait for the retaliation after he fired his entire store.

The Attendance Point system does not require a coaching or even speaking with the associate. They can literally just let you go. That’s the policy now.

They probably deserved to get fired. Finally a gm with some balls. On the other hand they can apply at the Salt Lake Club, our club manager will hire anyone including all the rejects that get fired from other clubs.
If they were over 5 points, you, and the people fired, had to know it was coming. This company doesn't make rules they don't intend to follow. If it wasn't for the pandemic, I imagine they would have been fired long ago. Which proves another point, management will use you until they no longer need you, then, poof, you're gone.

You can’t just “fire” associates. There is a coaching process and I am guessing that these associates had reached the max in the coaching process or attendance.
Please do a follow up on the reason why they fired 30 at once. And was it a different reason for each person ,very weird because that's a lot of people at once. Hate to shop that club , must be a real dirty , bare , less employees more thief !!
We lost 50 at the block schedule change. It took a while to bounce back and get fully staffed but we are stronger now as a club than before.
Not trying to be morbid or disrespectful but did the associate die at work, or from covid? Or just completely unrelated outside of work? Again, not asking to be morbid, just if it's covid or at work that is a whole other issue.
How can that happen? What justification was there to fire 30 people?
Omg. Wow. Ok, that takes the cake. I am really sorry to hear all that. We have had an AM go on a spree and fire almost the entire fresh Dept and a few unluckiest elsewhere a few years back, but dang. That is crazy. If we lost 30 people I am not sure if we would have even 30 left at this point.
I'll be interested to see if there is any retaliation.
