I see that this place is frequented by some of the newer employees so I have a word of advice for them: If you're asked to help out with something that's not part of your job make sure that you always have a good excuse (busy with something unavoidable) to politely decline. If you help out once, next time you'll be asked to do it on your own. And from then on, you'll be expected to do it every single time. If you don't, even when it's not supposed to be your job, you're the one who'll be penalized. So make sure to save yourself the trouble and tons of extra work for no extra pay.

I wish I had gotten this advice when I started some years back. I am so trapped now. This is VERY TRUE. Take care of yourself, set boundaries. Nobody else will do it for you.
Are you kidding me?? Going above and beyond at Nike means getting more work, not getting recognition or promotions. You'll be drowning in work while a– kissers keep progressing their careers. But you do you.
Could be the dumbest advice I have ever heard. If you want to advance, go above and beyond.
