Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

If you could, would you trade in your job for something else?

So many of the folks I work with are here just until they can find something better. They're not even trying to hide that. Sam's Club is here to fill their time and provide a paycheck while they search for a better option. I was wondering how many people feel this way? Is Sam's really just a temporary stop for the majority of employees?

If I could I would go back to my old job in a heartbeat. Didn't have a supervisor look over my shoulder all day. Or being pulled in 6 different directions all at one time.

If I could find something what I'm making here with 6 weeks of vacation time that I have I'd be out for sure. It's not the same company it was before. I get that things are always changing however our beliefs here have changed as well with all the new people coming in to the company. It just has not been the same since we lost PTC, claims position and receiving clerk.

Sam's used to be a job that people actually wanted from 1991 until around 2010. Then it started to come apart at the very core. It started with the cutting of benefits to eliminating profit sharing. The corporate greed or should I say the politically motivated board of directors have run the company into the ground and made it a hostile work environment. Used to be proud to say I work for sams. Now it's just another job that you look forward to quitting A.S.A.P.

What else is a job suppose to be, beside a layover to a better job? You better believe Sam's Club/Walmart takes care of the Walton family. I'll do my best to take care of me and mine.

Loyalty? To a corporation? Po-lease.

ALL jobs are temporary. You will never get ahead by working. What you need to do is get enough money invested to where you don’t have to work. In my case, it took 42 years. Some do it sooner, some take longer, and many more never reach this point and die penniless. This is the brutal reality of life.
