Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Have you received any recognition from your supervisor in the past year?

I'm wondering if it's just me or is it now custom to not receive any recognitions from your supervisor even when you go out of your way to make sure something is done the right way and in time (which includes a lot of extra hours and doing things that were supposed to be done by other people?)

It is not about participation trophies you a–holes. Recognition is pay rises, bonuses, extra time off, promotions for people who do more than their small paycheck pays for.

You shouldn’t need praise for simply going your job you snowflake. Back when I was your age we didn’t get participation trophies. You are not entitled to praise. You have to earn it.

Yes, many times before. But not in 2020... in that year I was put on a PIP which I survived, got a new great position and was RA`d 5 months later.... But all good now :)

I got nothing... waiting to hear if I get a raise since the there is a salary increase cycle going on right now... I had a stellar year last year... No bonus, no GDP... hoping for a salary raise at least... if not then I need to start looking somewhere else.

#cuw Don't be paranoid I have noticed the same pattern and believe you are absolutely correct HR is pushing down the truly relevant posts

Bruh, it’s your job to do this. This is not going above and beyond. You get paid to do this bare minimum. Do extra and then you’ll see some thanx. No participation trophies.

IBM needs to give trophies to all employees since we are all winners!

I have a paranoid theory about posts like this one.

Any time someone posts something of real relevance, such the post below this one from the former HR rep, someone from IBM HR posts a stupid post to push the the earlier post down.

Or is that way too off base?

Hello again HR. I can't pay my bills with those ridiculous Blue Points or the love-fest congratulatory group emails circulated by management. How about a decent raise this year instead of "recognition".

You again? Your posts are ridiculous and not at all related to layoffs. Please go away.

Wake up. The people getting all the recognition are the ones for who you “did their work”. You are therefore the useful id–t. As such you will continue to go unrecognized.
