I tried asking my first level and he’s completely clueless. Question is what is the criteria to get retire union medical benefits?
Do you have to be a certain age? What if I left the company with 22 years service and I’m only 45?

I believe with 25 years your vested regardless and keep your benefits
30 yrs of service or
Age 50 and 25 yrs of service or
Age 55 and 20 yrs of service or
Age 60 and 15 years of service
You need one of those combos above. Just adding to 75 will not get you retiree healthcare( ex. Age 53 and 22 years of service )
Why would you ask your manager about union retiree benefits, why not ask the union?
years of service + age=75 and have to be age 50 and up
After 25 years you keep your benefits for life even if your not pension eligible
Talk to your garage steward. They are full of knowledge. And free time...
If you have a pre existing condition like 98% of associates do then you are good to go because they don't expect many years remaining after retirement.
30 years of service any age, or years of service +age=75
