My observation on the XOM board is that most of the posters and commenters are from North America and most of the posts reflect how things are at XOM from a US perspective. I hardly see any posts or comments from our peers located at GBCs at KL, Singapore, Curitiba, BA, Bangalore, etc. Is it because people at these locations are afraid of participating or posting how things are locally for them or have you all at these locations been incentivised to keep mum or been threatened of something? If none of that then it seems things at your locations is accepting and positively good I assume. If not, this is your opportunity to share with your North American peers.

Hi OP. Located in SG. SG is an expensive country to do business in, and the new GHG tax implemented last year isn't helping. We recently got notice that the MLA review that was ding-donged around for close to one year was finally completed and we'll be shutting down our oldest aromatics units. Headcount here is absolutely going to drop for the forseeable future.
Now KLTC is absolutely hiring, because we're all going to be replaced by cheap centralised off-shore labour with only a skeleton crew locally. I notice a few of the high-rollers getting expat assignments to KLTC and that's a sign of things to come.
OP - share what exactly? You wanna know how bad the pay is outside of the States? And how the corporation has made this whole situation a zero sum game between BSCs and everyone else?

Singaporeans obviously lost their balls. Complaining a lot in the forum but doing nothing substantial. The government is complicit in aiding EM too, which is understandable given the amount of investments and expat brought into the country. So nothing much to be shared too.

Also, why would a bunch of people in locations that are HIRING like crazy be looking at a LAYOFF board?
