Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

T listed as #4 on LinkedIn's 'Top 50' companies

From the post:

"AT&T and its employees have endured a tough year with hundreds of pandemic-fueled store closures. The decisions are part of a larger shift for the company, including a CEO transition and an increased focus on growing the company’s wireless and WarnerMedia businesses."

Funny, in their little summary they didn't mention the annual loss of 10K jobs, the butchering of benefits, or the massive problem in employee morale.

Apparently, everyone still with T ought to be on their knees thanking Stink for making T such a great company!

I take the word of some whiner on an anonymous site over LinkedIn any day.

most people on linkedin are in customer facing positions of sales, marketing, service industry executives, or business analyst management employees who have internal customers; rarely will you see techs on LinkedIn, except for Construction & Engineering Director level and above. most on LinkedIn will drink the kool aid and only say positive things of all businesses for fear of burning any potential future business or job opportunities.

linkedin glassdoor - do you think a company with att's marketing budget going to put up with people telling the truth on those sites.

att will teach cnn a thing or two about propaganda.

Haters can only accept negative comments about AT&T. No way the company can be successful while they languish. Just no way.

I was shocked at the list too. Even when I was at att it was toxic. It’s like much of the news out there take it with a grain of salt as it does not reflect real world. We know the media lives in a bubble. This just confirms it. Or things are so bad that even a dumpster fire like att still rates high. If you live in garbage a hamburger that is not loaded with maggots is a gourmet meal.

TBH, that was really surprising. T is never on these kind of lists! Amazon at #1? have they talked to any of their employees? And the real #2 was Microsoft but they had to exclude themselves. Right.

Don't forget, Linkedin is owned by good old Microsoft so not exactly an objective award. Probably good for a 10% discount on the next cloud migration.

Nothing but corporate propaganda, doesn't worth your click or time.

I saw this also. I laughed so hard coffee came out my nose. Wondering how much did AT&T pay for that placement.

Read all these TOP xx listings with a humungous grain of salt. T and other companies, hire (contract out) media relations companies to always appear on these lists. Did linked in take an real employee survey ??? no , then how would they know? .. easy the media relations company T hired, did all the leg work, whether that be using a positive commenting farm in India or China , or hiring a reputation company in Easter Europe to game any of the Linked in metrics, or perhaps just contributing to the gatekeepers of these social sites.. who knows.. just ignore all this nonsense. If you want to figure out what's really going on , just listen to the earnings calls.
