Is it odd that we have to make it easier for a 3rd party to come in and count our inventory? I literally have been doing the counting in the freezer for every box of chicken, making sure there's the correct amount of bags in each box. Of course this is when we are open so then it gets shopped and I'm told to do it again! What a waste of time!! If we're paying a 3rd party to count our stock, let them count it!!

As far back as 1995 and maybe earlier there has always been an outside inventory counting company. I've never known them to be perfect in their counts. Sam's associates aren't perfect counters either but between the two the count is pretty close to being correct..
I believe it is the law to have outside company come in. That is what I was told. It keeps companies honest.
Why do we have an outside agency coming in to do inventory anyway? Why aren't we doing it? Didn't we use too?
In my opinion this is more to protect US than to make it easy for THEM. I know I’ve been at every audit for the past couple years and whenever they get a number wrong on something I’ve done myself I’m quick to step and say Oh No Sir! You best go count again because I promise you there’s 519 pairs of socks not no 450! Remember, every little thing they get wrong counts against your club, not them. They could care less and get a good paycheck whether they are right or wrong so it’s up to us to make sure they count every little thing.

Let me tell you as a manager a couple bags won’t break you in the beast.
you should only have to count what is in backstock, put it on a precount sheet, & put them on the outside of the cooler door. inventory crew should be counting what is on the shelf.
