Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

No Vaccine Requirement?

I find it really lame and irresponsible that Fiserv is leaning towards not requiring a vaccine to go back into the office. What a stupid way to reopen. The only way to guarantee no one brings it in and spreads it is having everyone vaccinated. The stupidity that continues to emerge from the pandemic is extraordinary. All under the guise of “it’s not legal to do so”. Hahahaha! Sure it is. Companies can require quite a bit in order to protect their employees and customers. This has been litigated numerous times. Ron Johnson must be advising our leaders.

“Employers can legally require employees to get vaccinated, assuming they can establish it is a legitimate job requirement and assuming they make reasonable accommodations for workers who cannot take the vaccine because of disabilities or religious reasons.”

Companies have the legal ability to require vaccinations.

In my opinion, they should do so. If the vaccination level doesn't reach a certain percentage, we will be living with this for years to come.

Being vaccinated does not protect a person 100%, and the indoor, re-circulated air in most office buildings is a high risk. Sitting around at work in a mask for the next few years is not an appealing thought.

I find it lame and irresponsible for you to force what is a very personal decision on others.

“Are you vaccinated? If so, aren’t you protected? "

“You dont have full protection so there is still a risk. Especially if you are indoors with lots of other people.”

Ok so let’s all force people to get a vaccination they don’t want and hasn’t been FDA approved so we’re all half-protected and still at-risk. Wtf?!?!?

Yet another decision from the top that shows we are just worker robots to them.

All empathy for the workers (who power this company0 has gone.

Pete Kight would be ashamed.

I am definitely not going to sit in a stuffy cube wearing a mask for 8 hours, vaccine or not. If this ends up being the case then I will look for another career. Fiserv is going the way of the dinosaur I'm afraid - becoming more and more of a joke company by the femtosecond.

In other news, I love how Frank tried to downplay the significance of the 401K by claiming it only applies to a subset of people on the call (US-based associates). What a JOKE of a leader. Meanwhile, he is pumping money into fake Glassdoor reviews.

It would be grossly irresponsible to ask (force) employees to come back into the office.

Even if vaccines were mandatory (they aren't) and there was 100% compliance with masks and distancing (there won't be), we are still in a pandemic. There have been break through infections along the vaccinated. This means vaccinated people can still carry and transfer disease.

There is a large portion of the population (kids under 16) who are ineligible to get the vaccine at this point. There is absolutely no way that I will go sit in an office with unmasked and unvaccinated people and risk bringing him disease to my family. No way.

Frank says attrition is his friend. So he’s widening his friend circle is all

It is a choice, and some business does not have the right to enforce that. If they try, I would guess they some lawsuits will come of it and the attrition would accelerate. Attrition of employees has been increasing at Fiserv, which was acknowledged by Frank at the last all hands.

Stop lying we haven’t decided whether we will or will not require vaccines. We are watching this issue evolve and will make a thoughtful decision on what is best/safest for our people. Once decided you can be the first to know, I promise.

I was under the impression that those who vaccinate by choice will be fine. So why are you concerned with who gets vaccinated if you are vaccinated yoursefl? After hearing horror stories of these vaccine side effects in the news, people should have a right to hold off if they are not comfortable with the vaccine. I know firsthand of someone who suffered internal bleeding in the head and ended up in the emergency room because her health was weak to begin with. Everyone has their vaccine thresholds.

Are you vaccinated? If so, aren’t you protected?

If people don’t want to get vaccinated, that’s their problem. Stop complaining.
