Conflicting Bangalore Rumors

At my 1-1 my manager said the spike in cases in India has caused another lockdown and halted return to work efforts. They even mentioned a super viral strain.

I searched news reports for Bangalore and indeed they have had a 'super spreader' strain and now concerning reports of a 'double mutant'. Their numbers have skyrocketed while their own news reports that Karnataka is under reporting in the tens of thousands.

My teammates and friends there say they are not going out except for food, leaving boxed and canned food outside for a couple days before bringing them in and bleaching fruits and vegetables before putting them away. Seemingly extreme measures.

But a recent HR email implied that HTS workers were returning to the office place and everything's fine for us to do so.

Does anyone know what's really up?

The U.S. told its citizens to get out of India as soon as possible as the country’s Covid-19 crisis worsens at an astonishing pace.

In a Level 4 travel advisory --- the highest of its kind issued by the State Department -- U.S. citizens were told “not to travel to India or to leave as soon as it is safe to do so.” There are 14 direct daily flights between India and the U.S. and other services that connect through Europe, the department said.

Yeah, it’s all fine. As long as you don’t mind being burned in a fire along with a bunch of other people.

All good! Get some overtime in before you join the burning though.

Rule #1: never, EVER, believe anything from HR. They are pathological liars.

There are fires going in parking lots that people are throwing dead bodies on.

Returning to office and everything is fine? Situation in India is out of control. Go watch the daily cremations by several hundreds per day. Sounds like death sentence.
