Thread regarding Ascension Health layoffs

This has NOTHING to do with the pandemic

I've talked to several people so far who've tried to justify these layoffs with the pandemic. I don't understand why they feel the need to defend the company but they need to find a better way to do it. This has nothing to do with covid. It's just a handy excuse. This has everything to do with wanting to get rid of loyal and hardworking employees because they want to hire much cheaper replacements here or abroad. As simple as that. The ELT wants to fill its pockets with bonuses they'll receive for cutting costs - in this case us. Shameful but true.

Reading this thread makes me sick. This happened to me at a Fortune 500 annuities and mutual fund company. They did everything they could to make it seem like a positive thing and like we could join the outsourcing company.

What a joke. They made it seem like they would eliminate the loafers. Nope targeted people by salary only.

And like ascention this was 1-2 years secretly in the making. Has nothing to do with who’s in the Oval Office. And ascension took government bailouts? Gross

When the sisters left about 11 years ago that was the sign this was going to be all about money. This organization has hid behind catholic values for so long but now they’re being exposed. The execs will get million dollar bonuses plus their thousands of bonuses throughout the year.

I left my last job in the Fortune 500 corporate world to get away from this BS. I really thought a Christian organization wouldn't do what they are doing to their employees. New Ascension Values!

Did you notice they opening reflection to the zoom meeting announcement was to reach outside of yourself to grow? Then they announced they were outsourcing our jobs for cheaper labor overseas to grow. Whoever thought that was a good opening prayer, didn't take into account their audiences perspective.

It's not sad it's a sin, one of the 7 deadly ones: greed. They have no problem taking taxpayer funded bailout money either, even though they did.not.need.it.

I agree. After 39 years of dedication to them. I’m now looking for a job. Employers don’t care about that anymore. It is sad.
