Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

No Interviews

So why bother to post jobs if you are not going to interview people for the position? Our club just puts whoever they want into spots, with out giving others a chance. Our top manager is horrible and so are a few of the leads. They lie.

First off.. did you pass the assessment? If not, you won't even be considered. So.. there's a thought. And if you interviewed... Did you ever think maybe you didn't do well? Or someone else did better?? For you to assume you were the best qualified, had the best interview etc when you weren't in on any others is pretty arrogant. You would be surprised how many people do not pass the assessment. Or don't have good interviews. And as for member specialist. It is just below teamlead so yea.. your interview, work ethic, knowledge and experience plays a big roll in qualifying for that position. Just because you applied and you have worked for the company however long, means nothing. I've never decorated a cake outside my own kitchen... So why would I assume that I should get a cake decorating position, even if I did pass an assessment or have worked there for however many years. Some times training isn't enough. Either you have the propensity or you don't.

Seriously, I can see why you didn't get the job just by reading your post.

Why are you being such an a-s? People post issues on this blog all the time, and then someone like you comes along assuming. That is why you are an A-S. It is apparent you have zero intelligence except in the area of being rude. This blog should be informative, however very few ever give a definitive answer, they just throw insults. In our club there are so many mean people who treat associates horribly. You would fit in perfectly.

I realized things have changed, it is wrong the way they handle filling positions. Years ago, if you put in for a position, the managers acknowledged you, now nothing. In our club people are being told if you want to apply for Member Service Specialist, you must work on the front end. I would like to know if that is a requirement in other clubs.

Because they know who they are giving the job to before you even apply! Did you think there was a fair process free from discrimination, retaliation and favoritism?

It used to be they only had to interview the top 3 candidates for the position. Not sure if that has changed, but they did not have to interview everyone in the req. But they usually know who their going to pick. Interviewing is just going through the motions.
