Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Sick

So sick of Customer Care. Why am I TYS, technical support, billing, and set up?

Give me ONE job and train me for it, Jesus Christ.

What’s my supervisor doing? Oh another meeting? Cool.

@3qpz+1aF3qWrq While I agree with your comments 100%. In the OP defense, Verizon quit training people well years ago. We used to get live training sometimes for days. Now, you’re lucky to get 5 minutes, or an email.

Wow! This is scary. When I worked customer service 30 years ago back in the early 90s (not with VZ), we were expected to be able to deal with any and every issue that a caller could possibly call about. So either we knew the answer or knew where to find it or we took their number and found the answer and got back to them. There was never any complaining about hard questions or having to know too much. We took pride in being where the buck stopped and having or being able to find the answers. And no we weren't highly paid, but I was definitely proud to be part of a group that people could count on. Sorry to break it to you, but you should be able to know how to get all things accomplished in your role or else maybe you don't belong there.

Hey OP, ignore the trolls here and know that you are not alone. So many of us feel the same way in CS. It really sucks.

@1ijk+1aF3qWrq, @1tdx+1aF3qWrq (aka Bootlicker) here. I always appreciate thoughts and prayers, so thank you. What depresses me is a group of people that do not understand that other people may have different opinions and views than themselves and have the right to express them. The expression of those thoughts, feelings and opinions does not mean they are brainwashed or cynical, it just means they don't agree with yours. Since you gave me a OMG, let me leave you with a KMA.

It’s pretty evident that most of you have never thought for yourselves. Critical thinking is hard, I know, so just keep believing in Big Red. It’s easier that way, right? I’m sure you won’t regret it in 5 years, if you’re still here.

One job. Care for the customer. Are you looking for a job where all you do is tel them to turn on and on their phones and if that doesn’t work send them to level 2?

I'm guessing you have to sit in one spot when you're chewing gum too, right?
We want YOU to join the union... you're a perfect candidate!

Bootlicker here, right to name calling, a very non-adult trait. I assume you did not get a participation trophy for real world experience. Perhaps you can get your helicopter parents to explain to your management what a wonderfully perfect child you were and that they would like them to treat you better than the other workers as you feel mistreated.

"One job", if you can't juggle more than one ball at a time, you can't join the circus.
