Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Do you keep quiet even when you strongly disagree?

It didn’t just happen to me once that I disagreed with my superior, it happened to me multiple times but I decided to keep quiet.
The reason is that I think that even with a respectful, thoughtful approach this disagreement can risk losing your job.
Lately, however, I can no longer keep quiet and I'm considering whether to express my disagreement.

someone disagreed once and a vp wanted that person gone and it happened. if they want you gone they will ALWAYS find a way, starting with your cfe, and they will always cover uo the real reason and find some bs excuse to oust the individual.

This and the prior post ("engagement") are obvious HR plants.

Yes I’ve always been able to respectfully disagree at Nike.

That isn’t the problem. The problem is that when managers/leaders have already decided how something will go, that’s how it will go. Always.

I’ve never disagreed with a manager/leader and then heard them say “You know what? I hadn’t thought about that and you’re entirely correct. We should reevaluate and maybe do what you’ve suggested.”

Actually I think that did happen once, in a dream I had back in 2017.

I definitely do not feel I can voice disagreement with my leadership. There is very much an attitude of “get on board or get off the ship” happening. Any disagreement with a decision or approach could get me in a “get off the ship” place. I feel my manager would unofficially (or untraceably) retaliate.
