Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

Do you often work many more hours than you are paid?

There are more and more rumors about detailed time writing.

Try to time write more than 40 hours per week, they will not let you because it is a liability for the company. But you are expected to work way over 40 hours.

Exactly! Very often I work more than 40 hours and this company takes it pro bono. I'm not complaining because I love my job, but it's true that some employees are expected to work many more hours than we are paid.

Exactly, just keep doing what you are doing at home and write in your hours. Until we’re back in the office, they can’t know any better unless they do regular check ins and want to see sent boxes in email or copies of weekly calendars or other hard evidence and stuff. I guess that would give middle management something to do...

Well you're salaried, not paid hourly so. The company will justify it that way. You are required to meet the minimum hours
