Good reasons for buybacks

• Share price has been unduly punished - NOPE, WE SUCK AND WE'RE A SMALL WISP IN CLOUD WARS
• Buying cheap shares adds value for existing shareholders - MAYBE, IF YOU COUNT EXECS

Bad reasons for buybacks

• Boost key ratios - DEFINITELY TRYING
• Maintain value of stock options by boosting share price - YES, MIGHT KEEP SOME FROM BAILING EARLY
• Put off predators - NOPE

Oracle has been buying back stock a $4billion per quarter.

Look at the last 10-15 years on how ORCL has performed compared to others. If you invest on other companies, you would have earned more money!

Obviously yes, since Oracle is unable to grow revenue.

Huh? If you invest in this company in any way shape or form, you must not have any idea about trading or you’re just not “with the times”. I mean. In the last year some stocks have made what oracle has made in the last 10 years and don’t even get me started. The stock price is doing great if you’re in 1993. And really, only reason the stock price for this company ever does good is “re-org” aka lay off. My unit just had a “re-org” moving stiffs from one fake position to another. Gave me a good laugh as I end another week.
