Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Schwab is hiring?

Why does leadership feel like it's okay to tell TDA teams that they're aggressively hiring (especially in tech) as they continue laying off thousands of people? They have so much work but we sit here with nothing meaningful to do. Does anyone at Schwab realize how tone deaf that is?

TDA does have better commercials. I'll give them that. Ralph Lundgren. Rocky situation. Crushes can. That is a great commercial, seriously. Much better than own your tomorrow.

Look. TDA tech is generally mediocre at best from my experience of interacting with them. They are direct, but that's about it. Not impressed.

I found this looking for most recent news about Schwab laying off employees. It's really sad Schwab is a very mediocre company that was able to buy a company like TDA. TDA was blowing every quarter in all categories. A very well oiled machine, very efficient with very qualified employees that were empowered and could do multiple jobs at a higher level. Schwab is bloated too many chiefs in the tribe, lack work ethic so a lot less efficient than tda, weak management that are not allowed to make their own decisions because they come from Chuck. They are really into bean counting because they were on the decline and putting up weak quaterly numbers. TDA was whipping schwab in all faucets. Why do you think td bank has been a leach on this cash cow all these years? How it looks there will be nobody left from TDA to fill these jobs that Schwab says are available but doesn't hire anyone on the TDA side?? My two cents about the truth of the merger.

It’s also easier for them to have a new hire who doesn’t have vacation and sick time accumulated as well as sabbatical time. And, if the new hires are younger, that helps health insurance premiums for them.

I'm getting work done on my house. I currently have 5 painters. I don't need to have my house painted though. What I really need is an electrician. The painters can't do electrical work because they don't have the experience. What I really need to do is hire an electrician and fire the 5 painters.
