Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Midland, July is close and the ax is ready!

I have seen in Midland that all department are taking the axe, but like always there is an exception. Facilities. I do not know if the department is not taking the "cut" because they are already did it with the Delaware side. Besides, I have seen people leaving from this department before July. Did they know something about July? or something is going to happen after the elections?

Permian - the Kearl of the South. Time to start taking the terminations to the VPs and the President of XTO as well. What a crime all the wasted investment this has been in pouring good money after bad into Midland and the Delaware. Facilities sitting idle, Wink to Webster pipeline will never reach it planned capacity, production volumes flat, COLA discontinued, employees PIPED, drilling almost at a standstill vs. 2019 and very little CAPEX/OPEX in the foreseeable future, a dismal outcome indeed.

COLA is not returning to ensure the XTO VPs and the President get salary raises, bonuses and RSUs again this year as they have families to feed and a lifestyle to maintain in their Houston homes while we tole away in the heat and flat lands of the desert in West TX and NM.

That is a good question, but it depends in what level of brownoser or snitcher you are at the time. 80% brownnoser to 85% snitcher, you are safe!

If these comments are talking about and just Facilities. The Delaware group was disable, "dissipated" and force to retire. And yes very group lost people, but I think they are referring to Facilities.

Who cares. Many of us won’t be here then. Giving management two months to make good on their promise to bring back the cost of living pay or we are out. Good luck ramping back up without us.

Look at the ranking of the groups and see who is the preferred group. Wish I had that data!

You are just making things up. If you are talking supervisor resignations it is two. If you are talking fired engineers it is a much bigger number. Why do you think the supervisors resigned? They thought they were next.

Ask your friends what they mean by facilities. Just the group they are in? There are several facilities supervisors out there and looking at org charts on share point they have cut a lot of employees. Did they transfer them out or fire them? Looks like fired because I can’t find them in the directory. You got some bad info. Do a little research and do t trust all the gossip you hear.

Ops engineering and drilling are the protected groups! It really doesn’t matter though because engineers move between all the groups.

Your friend is wrong. They took a much bigger hit than that. What group are you in that you are feeling so persecuted?

I think your friend worked in another Permian. According to my friends in facilities, there where just 2 layoff in facilities in last half of the year in 2020 and two more left Facilities, and I am talking about engineers not field people which they can not fall into PIP. Considering that your friends are brownnosers, they are counting contractors, which they are not part of the company. Something else stop using that bullcr@p words involuntary and retirement, where people know there were LAYOFF and RETIRE BY FORCE! Besides, my friends said that Facilities were bringing and hiring engineers from Houston at that time.

Good luck starting an us versus them fight amongst the ranks. We are united in being upset with management for taking away our cost of living money and being paid 1/3 less than a year ago.

If by facilities you mean us in the field we did lose a lot of people and many are quitting now.won’t be many left to Pip at this rate

What are you talking about? I have a friend in facilities out there and they said they lost so many people in the PIP, involuntary, retirements and transfers not replaced that they are working like crazy due to not enough people.

Delaware side wasn’t the only group in Permian to have cuts and resignations over the past year. Every group has lost people.
