I can get similar pay at a similar EM-type company but that’s just trading sh-t for sh-t. So I’m staying and studying up to get a position/company worth leaving for.

As an NRE they can PIP you but you won’t be fired. How close are you to RE ?

I'm an NRE so I need to stay until I reach 55, so not looking but I do have a back-up plan if they let me go. I expect to be NSI'd and PiP'ed this cycle, I was 'good' last year. Being NSI'd, will be hard on my motivation because I know I don't perform at that level, it really sucks the energy right out of you to be told you are at the bottom and your work is so poor. I would suggest that 30-40's take an honest look at what they see at EM and what they expect over the next 10yrs because I don't expect it to get much better. Stay well everyone!

I'm about 6 months from vesting my 401k match and will start my job search in earnest once I get closer to that service anniversary (assuming I don't get PIP'd)!

I am trying to stay a few years to get at least the medical and minimum retirement. There are new hires and people under 40 years old that will need more than 10 years for retirement. I don't believe they will make it. If I was younger I would jump ship now. The only thing keeping some of us here is the pension and retirement medical.

I’m staying until the sooner of 1) I find the right job or 2) I get fired
