U.S. Bank discloses investigation of "sales practices"

— by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau: https://www.bankingdive.com/news/wells-fargo-us-bank-disclose-cfpb-investigations/599785/

Wells also being investigated (again), so USB's in good company!

Let's see, trying to imagine US Bank's response to the CFPB . . .

  1. Deflect by extolling all the charitable, socially conscious efforts the company regularly touts on its landing page for staff.
  2. When that doesn't work, recite the US Bank Code of Ethics to try to paint the regulators as the unethical ones.

Should be a hoot!

I’m a former mngr and was contacted from a law firm in regards to this.. This is a real investigation for a class action. So glad i left that toxic place. We did get pressure from upper management on selling products “or else”

Hahahaha wow seems like there are some people in here who take things very personal. What are they hiding?!?!
Either part of management or truly need to find some hobbies... Agreed!

These so called leaders, and I use that term very loosely, are absolutely turning the other way when it comes to unethical behaviors. Everyone is aware of the Wells Fargo like tactics happening at USB. I have first hand seen the retaliation this corrupt institution will initiate to any employee speaking up.

How many regions are now also being encouraged to use such verbiage as "It comes with it." Leaders in our area are encouraging to package everything with a plus one mentality with such verbiage. This is coming straight out of the mouth of our leaders.

These issues have been reported but as we know, HR and management look away until a customer complains, then it becomes an issue. Sounds like a disgruntled Manager is in the chats!

USB is no different from Wells Fargo. Toxic sales culture where I've witnessed credit cards be processed without client consent, opening up of unnecessary bank accounts so banker can get comp points, refinancing of loans that make no sense for commission. Management pushed it because the pressure came from above them to hit goals.
