Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

All the people who are talking about quitting

Has anybody actually done it? Everybody I know and their mother is talking about quitting and all of them are still at work the next day and the day after that and so on. If you're so determined to leave, why not do it? Or at least stop talking about quitting 24/7 if you're so scared to go through with it.

I'm just pulling a Milton (from Office Space) in reverse! I do about as much work as Dairya$$ and Madd Dog. The only difference is I don't have to talk to Wall Street or run assinine dog and pony shows called "Town Hall" meetings. They might figure it out eventually, but I seriously doubt it!

Successful strategy is RIP = Retiring In Place. Still get paid, do some busy-work a couple hours per week.

Quit months ago and also sold all the stocks - a good thing as the value is still high.

Those who remain will ultimately be removed, as the position is offshored or a contractor or an indentured H1-B is brought in.

You think “quit” means stop taking a pay check.
Lol newb.
These people still get a pay check. They just BS through the day spending their energy on day trading and home projects instead of Honeywell.

If you didn’t make more money in the stock market than your Honeywell salary every year for the last five years you are putting your energy in the wrong place.

Left 5 years ago. Pressure on Band 4 individual contributors was immense. Walk on water was al they wanted and 24/7 response to all project demands. Now life is much better and I smile again. No apprehension about waking up and facing walking into the next train wreck that is Honeywell daily. Management directives are to make life to their SUBORDINATES as difficult as possible. So glad to escape the lunatics running the asylum.

Pay severance and then watch people quit. Not before.

My hpd result has been "develop in place" for about 5 years.
I was going to leave but instead I "quit in place".
Just kind of hang around, socialize, entertain guests in my office.
Pretty much just going thru the motions.
It will work until I get a rif package.
If I was WFH I would have already have quit.
I'm retirement age and don't feel like being the new guy.

Been there more than once. Always made a bunch more by leaving for a different company.

"If you're so determined to leave, why not do it?"

Because I still get paid! No one knows what the work is anymore! Everyone is just throwing papers in the air! We are all waiting for our layoff call and severance $$

I left. Few months back, I was placed in a secret 3 years bonus program, named Talent in Place (TIP), as they decided that my work is critical. First of all what an obnoxious acronym. I used this to negotiate a higher sign-in bonus in my new job. I left and feel more confident and mentality stable. Thank you HON!

I quit. But I had decided to leave 6 months back, when I got exposed to leadership meetings and felt that they had no clue about adjacencies, that they wanted to get into. Also, a lot of managers were doing disservice by being quiet or agreeing with the LT. I didn’t see a future of my LOB and started my preparation to get a better role. My suggestion to those who want to leave should leave sooner than later, as being here negatively impacts your confidence and moral. Grass is really greener on the other side.

Why quit when I'm still getting paid with no current projects or projects in the pipeline? Best to wait it out and assume I'm on a RIF list. Quitters don't get severance.

I've mentally quit. It will take a LONG time for my id--t manager to realize that nothing is happening or being done. He probably isn't doing any work either. I can do work and get a HW paycheck, or I can do no work and still get a HW paycheck.

That's what mgmt & hr want you to do: leave.
Cheaper than paying severance. Not me, my strategy to collect before leaving has worked.

@ryx...Oh, all those invisible others who see it as you do and therefore elevate your argument.

Uh-huh!

That's what people say when they've got nothing. Almost as effective as "Studies have shown..."
How is this even an issue to concern yourself with?

You people really have no clue how many of us are tired of all these people talking sh-t about how they are leaving at the first chance they get. But still they are here, not going anywhere, wasting oxygen.

This troll poster must be a part of the janitorial staff. Besides a shortage of those who work for a living, Olathe can't even retain supervisors and managers!

I don't expect anything positive to come out of the survey, but my internal job search posting says that HW is trying to hire "hundreds" of people to fill the gaps of those who manned the lifeboats.

They're leaving in droves. And they're smart enough to find the right opportunity before doing so. That's why Madd Dog recently started the retention game. He wants to see how rotten the carrot can be and still keep people around to ensure his bonus. He has that new Porsche and the third house in the Bahamas that still has a mortgage.

And just an FYI, you will all be classified as non regrettable turnover because you will help the numbers and never be replaced. I left and never been happier, HW will continue to get worse just as it has over my 13 yrs.....should have left about 5 years ago when the Maddog started making a mess of things. He instantly negatively impacted Past due, turn time and delivery and driving aero into the ground.

The goal is to demoralize and convince the other guy do it so your job is safe. It's a win/win situation, your job is safe and the company gets rid of sukkers like that. Psyop 101.
