Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

How much is your target

I'm very curious what everyone's departure point for BAC is. I'm 49 and feel like I have a decent networth. What net worth, location and age do others have or think is enough to quit BAC?

I'm 40 with net worth of 1.1 mil with no debt except for the house. The house (valued at nearly 500k) will be paid off within 4-5 years. I'm hoping my role at BofA is stable until that point. Once the house is paid in full, monthy living expenses will be extremly minimal so I may consider leaving the full time rat race and find part time consulting work (no more than 30 hours a week). I plan on fully retiring sometime between 55 and 60 depending on how quickly the market gets us to the 2 million + mark in retirement/brokerage accounts.

My advice to the younger generation, invest like crazy (ROTH 401K is your friend) and don't borrow money except to buy a house. When you buy a home, use a 15 year mortgage only. Spend as little as possible on stuff like cars, expensive vacations, and other items that depricate in value.

  1. Net worth $1.2 million (750k in 2 houses). Selling 1 in next 3 months as this market is wild. Goal is $2 million and retire back to Costa Rica..

72 year old here from FL, with a net worth of 2.3MM, no debt and trying to save up as much as I can before I get laid off. This upcoming inflation worries me a bit but I have a good portion of my nest egg in cryptos.

I'm the same age as you and my net worth just reached $1MM. No debt to speak of, and have over $100k in cash. I'm trying to save up as much as I can because i want to be ready for the next chapter if this place lets me go. Keep saving everybody!
