Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Too little too late

I gave notice to my manager. The look on his face was hilarious. He asked me if we could “talk” about why I wanted to leave. I thought, NOW you care about why I want to leave. I said no and walked away from him and in 2 weeks I’ll be doing the same for VZ. The time can’t pass by fast enough for me.

Bosses in VZ are oblivious to employee engagement. They are always surprised when someone wants to leave, or they make you feel guilty for taking another job internally. If they have to ask, they then have failed already.

wondering if HR still does an exit interview. If so, tell them and hear their twisted responses.

Sad part is the manager will hire a replacement from the outside and promote them and tell every other manager how wonderful the new hire is because they think it makes them look more qualified, meanwhile the real work is done by more talented people who don’t have a chance of getting promoted

It’s kinda gross that I can sorta feel your satisfaction in putting it your leaders face..Although I would suggest communicating it’s way more satisfying

You should really tell em why you are quitting. It gives feedback to upper management. Not that it will change anything.
