Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

How many all-hands calls do we need per week?

Is it management arrogance? I generally find about 1-2 minutes of value from these calls.

Stopped going or even dialing in about 2 years ago. Hasn't created any issues, so apparently not important.

Here is the challange. The same info is provided via multiple levels of management via calls plus via email plus on Flagscape. There is a belief among mgmt that over communication is better to be sure you get the message. I personally disagree, because information overload shuts a lot of people down and they stop paying attention to any of it. I'd prefer they pick a communication vehicle and I'll ge my info from there. So...personally the way I handle the multiple redundant meetings is....if my mgr calls a meeting, I go. If my 2 up calls a meeting I look to see the topics and I'll likely go. Above the 2 up, I'll go if my schedule is clear (and I have some degree of interest that day)....but will never cancel or rearrange a meeting to attend those.

These calls are a complete waste of time. Most of the time I am usually reading my emails and text messages. These calls are total bullspit.

I think you got the premise wrong, from the get go. You should have started with this: Is it management arrogance or my ignorance? And I'm being generous with 'ignorance'. Know what I mean?
