Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Do you enjoy your job?

I loved my job and enjoyed giving my best... and then I came to Cisco. I thought I would have a lot of opportunities to grow and improve here, however, a job I once considered ideal has turned into something I can’t wait for to end. I am absolutely demoralized and of course I'm starting to think about getting out of here.

I made the mistake of being loyal to Cisco and to my team. Doing things that were needed for the team rather than for myself. Huge mistake. My advice - be loyal to yourself. IF you are still at Cisco, be selfish, and plan your exit.

I use to enjoy my job until i realized my job was to drink the coolaid. I use to enjoy my job when there were real engineers with real talent instead of of a bunch of mouth pieces.

Our entire group has turned toxic. Love my work, but can't deal with this day in and out. It is too stressful.

Stop making it an them vs us. No one has job security anymore especially Cisco. The problem isn’t diversity it’s the lack of respect, care and concern for the employees.

But it is us vs. them. It's the employees vs. the 1% and corporations. Wall Street and the executive officers of companies have no respect or care and concern for employees. They only care about the bottom line and short-term profits.

The decisions that are made to make short-term profits are ki----g the company in the long term, which is hurting the company overall and is turning the employees against middle-to-upper management and the executive leadership.

I don’t like mine and I’m looking for another gig right now. I stopped looking at this as a career a long time ago. It’s not even a job it’s a quarterly assignment and I’m working their until I’m not. My ideas stay and leave with me. If Cisco can’t show me any loyalty I am not showing them any. They could careless that people have children, families, mortgages, health problem or bills they LR you with the quickness and I treat them accordingly.

@hvw+1aOgt6gi - because they used to get a lot by just showing up and being privileged. Now they have to compete - it's not FAIR!

Cisco doesn't care about diversity. Everyone uses the same buzzwords and acronyms... meetings now remind me of the special olympics.

Don’t bring race or politics to this thread. That’s not with the OP asked about and is irrelevant to whether or not anyone likes their job.

How can anyone be happy and “hang up their hat”? The lack of stability ruins any Camaraderie employees could have. Year over year quarterly lay offs have a negative impact on the job, one’s self esteem, damages creativity, innovation and creates a culture of anxiety laden people worried about their jobs every 12 or so weeks. This pattern and practice is destructive in and of itself.

What the ELT means by "diversity" is that they want a broad range of people from different races, colors, and creeds who have identical political views. A black or Hispanic conservative doesn't contribute to "diversity" because he/she actually has diverse views. How can you have any meaningful "diversity" when everyone has to think the same way?

What you are experiencing, with your very own eyes, is the destruction of a company (and your career) because of a woke, hard-left, anti-american politics and ideology being inflicted upon it. Business results and meritorious advancement are not considered useful in this environment. Only the adherence to the ideology is what counts. And this ideology is based on lies.
The leaders who have done this are not stupid. They know what they are doing is based on lies, but bonuses, RSU's, and the share price are powerful forces at work.
It pains me to tell you that you (and I) are just collateral damage against these forces, and that includes the company itself.
Hence, the reason you feel the way you do.
