Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Prior Job At Chevron and TheLayoff.com

One of my prior jobs at Chevron was to monitor layoff.com and plant crazy stores in order to discredit the site. If employees started posting items that hit home really hard or items CVX did not want to discuss, I would start posting crazy topics, profanity, use of crazy words etc.

I would say the majority of the stuff on here about CVX is fairly accurate. You can tell the distraction post by the wording or complete change of subject that has nothing to do with CVX.

Just a helpful hint.

What are the other web sites that employees complain on?

I retired last year due to the excellent opportunity to move on to something I really like to do. I was an executive assistant and my boss and his LT talked once a week about what was posted on this site as well as others. Not knowing what is posted regardless if it is true or false puts you in a strange place to not being able to address obscure questions that may develop from the employee base.

Our PGPA person would prepare speaking points to various post should a question develop from one of the comments.

It is just wise to know what is being posted.

Nice try, troll. Chevron doesn’t monitor this site. If they did the monitor would post their name and LinkedIn link. Not gonna happen.

I don't work for CVX but I do work for Chevron Phillips. One of my main roles is to monitor social media and determine if the statements need to be addressed with the hosting site or just simply left alone. I would be surprised if any company today did not have a team of personnel assigned to do this task.

Hi @1rai,

I'm a 30 and was not aware we were paying you to monitor & post here. I'm sending out a Team's invite to you, your TL, & your TL's manager to discuss your post in greater detail and determine how best to recoup the loss of time to the company.

  1. S. I'm the one you gave that manic elevator pitch to a few years back.

@1rai+1aPTbZbc: I call BS because why would you announce this here?

What would be the names of those sites? I like to read the tabloids when waiting in line at Walmart.

I agree. This site is harmless compared to several others that dish detailed dirt with names attached.

I assure you Chevron could not care less what is said about them on the internet. It is self policing. If something outrageous is written it is either moderated by whatever site or someone tells Chevron. They have no need to monitor anything,

Obviously none of you are in iT if you are using your chevron issues device to post here. They can see EVERYTHING you do. So they know the cr-p y’all post on here and they know who is posting. So if you are an active CVX employee, stop using your company device especially while on company time to dump on your daddy.

Why would any company waste their time on this site other than to step in if some clown decides to post confidential data. I assume the companies have a pipeline to lay-off com to remove offensive posts if not caught by filters.
