Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Reality check

You got 14 months of WFH and probably didn't do an ounce more of overall completed work. That’s why you’re getting dragged back into the jungle.

Play-time is over. Back to the big boys and girls. Escape is possible, but don’t kid yourself as there is a reason why you enjoyed not having to leave your home for a year.

just do it, baby.

You do realize the only reason you have a job at Nike is because of creative people? I would love to see someone in finance try and design sports apparel or a marketing campaign.

LOL at the guy who works in creative calling other people lazy. Your entire existence is a joke. You could be replaced by a high school student. Most of us have hard skills that are very marketable. It’s a shame you were busy taking finger painting classes, but that was your choice.

Speak for yourself OP.

Over the last year I’ve been able to complete more work than any two prior years combined. That’s because I am substantially more productive when I’m able to stick to a work routine that doesn’t involve constant distractions, interruptions and the remaining circus of activity found in a gigantic call center environment.

Sounds like you might just be projecting. And in the process revealing your own inadequacies. Can’t help you there.

OP has a point even with their troll aspect.

Laughing at these posts saying they will be submitting resumes tomorrow. Same people who have been praying for more shutdowns.

Wow. In my org people have been more committed and worked harder ... AND longer hours. It's been ridiculous. Working from home has created a situation with zero boundaries between home life and work.

I feel sorry for whomever wrote this original post. What a sad org that must be. (Oh wait. Maybe it's Tech O. They have that non-culture.)

What’s with everyone’s obsession about having cameras on? Do I want my face to show up in a random screen shot in someone’s presentation or on someone’s IG with the hashtag Team Work makes the dream work? NO. Take care of your privacy because no one else doesn’t seem to give a sh-t.

There has definitely been a lot of LAZY people with WFH, yes they turn up for Zoom with their camera off and muted as they do things around the house and anyone who denies doing it is the ultimate BS, some are just worse then others.
Working in creative we are called a creative team.
In order to have a team you should have some sort of physical interaction that shouldn’t require UPS.
The idea that people are crying about having to go to the office 3 days a week, an office that is pretty much a play ground for adults if you take advantage of it, then wait until 3 days becomes 4 sooner then later and who knows 4 becomes 5.
Look at Nike Shanghai, they started off slow and They are 100 full time in the office.
You cry when the media talks about pay cuts if WFH becomes an option and you cry if you have to go to the office. Bunch of spoiled American privileged, all races, self centered brats

Tell that to the guy who just left my team last month to take a remote position elsewhere, for more money. He was tired of waiting around for guidance about his future.
