Where is it better?

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts here lately from those who have supposedly left Hertz and feel like they can now breathe again, enjoying a new company where they are much, much better off than before. Don’t such stories seem too idealized? Where are those companies where there are no problems?

It’s not ideal for me here either and I think a lot of things could have been fixed as well, but far from it being much worse to work here than at some other companies in this industry. I speak from experience. The only question is what someone puts as a priority: pay, work/ life balance, benefits, work atmosphere...

Those in Estero are living large. Honestly since the pandemic they are actually doing better financially than if the pandemic did not happen. Their compensation and bonuses are up 200%. And trust me the execs and the board have silently drafted some very nice golden parachutes for themselves in the event new ownership takes over and start to drop the dead weight in Estero. For the field team I am sure it sucks. We parade the JD Power award around the country and allow employees to hold it like that means anything. We work them till they quit. Continue to cut resources and drive the employees to achieve metrics that honestly cannot be hit. So depends who you ask where is it better?

It was scary starting over after years at Hertz. The word culture is thrown around a lot. In my experience the culture was day and night. Hard to explain but when you experience positive leadership it makes you want to perform.
