Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

In person work...except HR

To absolutely no surprise, HR has “rules for thee and not for me”. Multiple job postings right now in HR that expressly say remote work allowed (unless you live in Colorado)

Wow such blatant hypocrisy. Too many self absorbed and insecure people running HR

@5fhb valid. You might want to talk the head of HR. She doesn't value internal employees. if she did, she would not have let go the internal recruiting team. the team tried hard, but never had support and was never given a chance. now there is nobody to interact with internal employees.

"Do you care or are you just posting positions because you have but already picked a person to fill the role before posting it?"

It's been my experience that this is the case most of the times. They just have to pretend they're seriously looking at other candidates while they do their old college buddy a solid and open a spot for their kid right out of school.

Talent Acquisition, overworked or not, is the least effective group at Nike. The way they treat internal candidates is irresponsible (putting it mildly). How can it be acceptable to never communicate with candidates after all rounds of interviews for a position have been done for nearly a month? Do you know how to pick up the phone, write and send an email, or even send a slack message? What about the hiring managers? Do you care or are you just posting positions because you have but already picked a person to fill the role before posting it? Does anyone in HR even know what is going on? Does anyone care how badly employees are being treated?

@5gfy you are spot on. Nike HR is a joke. The LT are useless, soulless and self absorbed. The recruiting team takes the brunt of bad decisions and poor planning. Overworked and beaten down. Look at how many have left. Their leader could care less about the team. Only cares about herself.

They need to clean sweep HR from top to bottom. The incredible part is that HR has completely changed in the past few years but it has gotten even worse. All the quality HR people leave after 2 or so years and the soulless and worthless remain. They keep recruiting to hit diversity targets with no gauge of quality. More of the same until they get an LT that are concerned about anything but themselves. Senior directors in Nike HR are manager level at other companies...

Right, Nike HR investigated themselves. Most dysfunctional team at Nike. Overload of useless VP’s who all protect each other. JD needs to take a close look at that team.

@ihi

Don't you remember? Nike investigated themselves and found no wrongdoing. Barely any income disparity.

Wow, no remote in Colorado. Why? Oh must be because the equal pay legislation. If you hire in CO you have to disclose the compensation information. Nike puts on the act that they value diversity and equity but not if they have to be transparent.
