I know in advance that anything IBM touches will be destroyed. Acquired companies, something that could have been good ideas... nothing survives IBM. Is it possible that there is so much incompetence at the top?

That's not IBM talent btw. I know many other biggies who are better at destroying everything they touch. It's only natural.. why develop anything in-house when you can easily buy it once it reaches maturity.

YES!!!! absolutely yes! IBM’s fundamental problem is management. There is simply way too much of it, and an excess of management means there is a lack of execution due to folks not knowing who to believe, trust, or even work for. IBM has to thin the management layers considerably (Think 50% or slightly more)
