Return to Office - but not Tempe 1207 building

Two parts to this post:
1) Senior leadership has declared that US employees who have been working from home should be back in the office after 4th of July for 3 days of the week to collaborate and welcome new employees. (But managers have to balance the # of staff for social distancing so you may not actually see the coworkers you need to see? )

2) for everyone in Tempe 1207 building #1 above doesn’t apply to you… yet again we’re hearing that everyone in 1207 Building will be relocated to Sky Harbor. But Sky Harbor needs ~1 year to be renovated before anyone new can come over. Not sure what they plan on doing to the building as nobody in their right mind would want to buy it!

So get your bu-t into the office but don’t come in!

So environmental to put that many cars back on the road. Maybe they'll install 3 Tesla chargers just to make it look like they still care.

Oh man, living in Tempe or Ahwatukee and being assigned to Deer Valley would be a horrible commute. It could easily be one hour each way if there are no traffic problems with the added fuel expense and ~70 miles a day or so on your vehicle.

There is a potential buyer for the 1207 building, but even if the sale falls through (again), the building will be closed by the end of the year. Employees may go to buildings other than Sky Harbor, so don't be surprised if you're assigned to Deer Valley. With the I-10 Broadway Curve construction beginning soon, the commute will be so bad, that many people who worked in the 1207 are expected to quit. A free RIF with no severance compliments of the ALT. Be prepared.
