Chevron exiting Canada? New CBU President

Does anyone else think it’s a red flag they’re sending Balaji Krishnamurphy to CBU as the new president? After the other guy has only been the president for a few months. As far as I can tell, based on the only experience given in his introductory email Balaji is the guy they send to do acquisition or divesture activities and layoffs. Acquiring anything isn’t likely. Shell just sold their interests in the Kaybob Duvernay Play to a Canadian operator, I could see Chevron following as now we’re the only major in the area.

Well, the word is out re RD going off to Thailand. I still fail to see how it sheds any light on the future state of the CBU.

They’re not saying where R: is going...just hyping up that he is needed somewhere else for his skill set...which drives me to ask why new guy and his skill set is coming inside

Or more like temp grounds till a better job pops on a horizon. In the meantime it is a nice place to ski and camp.

Canada is a training job for managers. They can’t sc--w it up since it is so small most people forget it exists.

As to conversion of contractors to employees could have something to do with them trying to retain people so they don’t leave Chevron for Crescent Point (the buyer of Shell’s competing project). From what I understand that’s already been happening and good people have been poached.

Any theories why so many contractors (ops and facilities) are recently transferred to be employees?
