Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Completely disconnected

This is still a much better company than others in the industry, however, sometimes I get the feeling that top dogs don’t even know what the situation is like among ordinary employees and what problems they are facing working here. Of course, they mostly don't care about us, but most of all I think they don't get the right information which gives them wrong picture about their employees. Perhaps they would be surprised if they were really interested in finding out how things look from an employee’s perspective? Just my two cents.

Agreed! Just one look at their Workplace posts will tell you how clueless they are to everyone's stress and anxiety. Pictures of them on vacation holding beer and babies, rambling about their families and their gardens, and so on.

They are completely disconnected. They only care about the dividend and increased returns. What happens to the employees is of no consequence to executive management.

The senior managers are kept away from the riff raff. Any visit to a site is carefully orchestrated. They are interested in key metrics being met. As long as that is done, they really don't care.
