Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

This is not a bad thing

I'm obviously not talking about the money we lost between the acquisition and the sale. But this means we can refocus on what we're good at. We can once again fully focus on the segment that has been holding this whole mess up for the past several years. And in my book, that's a good thing. Of course, until Stankey decided that he wants to try something new once again, in which case we're screwed again.

On the surface this appears logical. But Randall and Stankey and the band of id--ts have gotten rid of the expertise that has made the company special. Do we lay fiber? No. Run our own RAN? No. Create software? No. Innovate in a Bell Labs-like setting? No.

They basically outsourced anything special to the lowest bidder. The MBAs thought they were the smartest guys in the room and could simply aggregate cheap contracted labor to run something as complex as a telecommunications company. Now they are left holding vapor. Tech M, Tata, IBM, and Amdocs have the company by the proverbial ba--s. The company has no cards left to play.

You won’t be around much longer once the budgets start being reworked

Good at what exactly? AT&T Engineers are the laughing stock of the industry. Those in the know and their vendors know this.

What exactly are we good at??? What is our exciting product these days? Really think we need to focus on customer service. Every interaction I have had regarding any of our products has been a nightmare.
