Everyone on here are cry babies. If you did your job than we wouldn’t be in this position. Yea I’m a manager and I hope Verizon gives me the ability to fire all the lazy reps that are just wasting headcount. Probably just a bunch of order takers that’s why you are no longer called sales representatives. You don’t sell you just scan like an old lady working at Walmart. You get paid for the work you do. Most of you spend 50% of the day in the bathroom anyways or on your phones. You guys are over paid and babied. Grow up kids. Let the adults do their job! Verizon isn’t the problem it’s how weak and lazy the reps are.

@epev+1aVwDa23, That would be true if we were dealing with normal employees. However, when you are dealing with a unionized workforce, you need to alter your tactics. They need to be treated more like you would dogs. They only respond to a reward/punishment structure, and their pay and compensation package cannot be considered in the equation as they see this as something they are entitled to regardless of performance. You need to find out what motivates your pack, and what they don't like. Reward desirable behavior only after they engage in the desirable behavior. Motivation can ONLY be accomplished by punishment... presenting the reward before the behavior is complete will not result in anything constructive.
For example: You have determined your pack likes donuts, and dislikes rap music. In order to get them out of the garage and working, you should play rap loudly in the garage in the morning. When they complete their assignments successfully, bring in a few dozen donuts as their reward. Offering the donuts before the work will only result in a late start, empty donut boxes, and no feeling of obligation to reciprocate for the donuts.
All successful managers of unionized employees figure this out sooner or later.
If you're really that great of a leader, then lead your people! Leaders don't "boss", they lead. If you're leading, why are your employees at the bottom of the pile? If they aren't at the bottom of the pile, what are you complaining about? For every finger you point, you've got 5 pointing right back at you.
you first boomer
what is considered "doing your job"? Are you referring to hiring people that can do the job of 50 people so that the Corporation can make more profit shares and let go of all the people that can't do the job of 50 people and the managers can get a bigger bonus?
@OP+1aVwDa23 - Keep drinking the VZ kool-aid and one day in the near future, your butthole will be up schitts creek without a paddle and only then you will ask your self, why? I'm a loyal, hard worker. They don't want hardworkers, just order takers and you my friend fit their mold perfectly until they're done with your sloppy seconds and lay you off. Best of luck d-mba$$!
Marnie please stop posting here.
Mental toughness is doing the right thing for the team when it’s not the best thing for you.
The sick part of this is .....everyone had/has an option.....but.....lmfao...me d-mb and the d-mber.....
Next outsource up.
yea I mean, its a POS telco going nowhere, why should people work for no future?
It is what it is.
OP, if you’re gonna cry and complain about everyone but you holding things back, quit yer’ bellyachin’ and grow up son.
Reps that made money and have ambition to continue that have already left Verizon retail. Any remaining heavy hitter type rep is just afraid of change and stuck in a rut. The changes Verizon made to comp has only made it better for mid pack to decelerate type reps.
Its the reps fault that everyone in the public knows they can get the same or better elsewhere? It is the more the reps fault then their leaders that we have any customers at all.
Bill Belichick??? Is that you??
OK KAREN
Speaking of stupidity,
it’s “know nothing”, know nothing.
I have ALWAYS followed the lead of my no nothing manager, and have always made money because of their stupidity
There is where u are wrong... you have to worry about what the other guy or gal are doing. It's called equal opportunity which clearly is not the case here. Tell me who can turn this company bankrupt and get paid 40 million as a parting gift uhmmmmmm none of us except the handball pocket pool champ himself nr hans can't get the stock out the 50's hans
Wtf is this roses sh-t speak English you must be in your 20's everything is not a cardi b song SMH
Always fun to see you people fight like anyone gives a cr-p. You're all just nobodies in a big company. Just get along and make it work as long as you can. All this zero sum infighting wreaks of insecurity. Time to pretend you're adults and just do your work and don't worry about the other guy or gal.
Hans rolls up in his new Bugatti to your store your like wow hans that's a nice car....... he's like son if you work hard don't call out sick and make your numbers ill get me the newer model next year lmfaoooooooo stop making these executives rich and putting them 9n mantles like there saints SMH wake up...
Its retail. You expect anything other than the bottom feeders of humanity working retail?
@eui+1aVwDa23 Oh pumpkin, I’m just fine, always have been....even when that a$$ hat was my manager I was still in the top 20%.... fact remains I’m still here and he isn’t....
@brn> so, you need to be coddled in order to be an adult and do the job you were hired for?
Do you need a hug because you didn't get a participation trophy? I feel soooooo bad for you... can I take you out for some chicken tendees? Somehow, I think mommy failed you. Somehow, Harriet's Happy Homeschool didn't prepare you for life in the real world. Maybe you're more cut out for a gig on chaturbate.
Someone didn’t make their metrics.....I had a manager like you, most of my metrics were excellent, my sales were in the toilette because he was such an a-s and screamed and belittled his subordinates on a daily basis. Shocking when he was RIFED.....Now I have a sane manager and my sales meet and exceed objectives as do all of my other metrics.....Amazing what happens when you have your teams respect.
@OP+1aVwDa23: funny how you call us order takers when managers are the ones who AREN’T producing profit and hiding in the back conducting “meetings.” you take more orders than anyone. too afraid to shake things up because you’re scared of your DM reprimanding you. boo hoo. get off your high horse, scab. ain’t nobody gonna protect you when your head is on the block. you may be a manager, but you’re certainly not a leader, just another bootlicker whose paycheck depends on underpaid and overexploited employees.
Since union/hourly employees have started posting here, I have become acutely aware of how shortsighted most of them are.
Most of you think that cr@p only originates at the top and rolls downhill. That takes the blame off the people at the bottom. It's very comforting to those at the bottom, and removes them from blame.
The reality is that cr@p can originate at the bottom and climb, too. In addition, roses are created, as well. They roll and climb too.
Everybody on the hill has the job of stopping the cr@p, and passing on roses. When I was a rep, i ensured i was a top seller and satisfied my customer. My sales padded my managers paycheck (roses), and satisfied customers meant no escalations (cr@p). In doing so, I tried to keep my other performance metrics in line as failing to do so created cr@p. Other members of my team only cared about avoiding customers and getting rid of them ASAP. This only created a ton of cr@p.
Move up a level, and my manager's manager got some Rose's in the form of sales we generated, but a ton of cr@p in the form of missed metrics, and escalations my manager couldn't stop.
Now, we jump to the level I'm currently at... I don't care about sales or escalations at all. I care about the teams performance metrics. When those metrics are out of order, it creates discussions, analysis, meetings, conference calls, etc.... a whole ball of cr@p. We correct what we can, but much of it has to be addressed by the managers and the reps, so we roll it right back down.
This is obviously a simplified example, but it adresses what is relevant. The bottom line is... much of the time, reps are the source of the cr@p they and their managers deal with. So, OP has a VERY valid, relevant beef with the reps... at least the ones failing to do what they're paid to do. If you feel offended or attacked by what I or OP has to say, do a little honest self critique. If you're numbers are in line... if you're sending more roses than cr@p... then you're not the person this is addressed to. If you're sending more cr@p than roses, at least expect the repercussions. Better yet, find a job you're more suited to. Everyone will be happier.
Ignorance is exactly what the company wants while your threatening employees and your a manager Hey HR look into this guy's ip address he's drunk with power. D-mb !! You fight with hard working reps but stay silent when in the presence of senior leadership makes you a pawn. If hans gets fired he gets 40 million to step how much do you or anyone else get ? Is he worth it someone who was fired for corporate embezzlement and errison had to pay 3 billion to the usa while under hans leadership. Do you think in a world with 3 billion humans that hans builds Corporate value ? Do u think he should be getting paid 20 million plus a year free phone free internet is he worth it ? Lol your fighting the wrong people turn your hate to your leadership Mr manager.
Your post is a lie. You have not looked into your own existence; who is a cry baby? Did you make this up in your own mind, have you seen anyone physically be a crybaby? Why do you think you're a better person for firing people? I understand you think you know better, but that's not how reality works.
