Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

HR GM call

RM is unhappy with people leaving Chevron and the offers that they are recieving. So, tomorrow her GMs will be calling all PSGs between 20-24 that they think will be regrettable losses and have discussion. I guess we will find out how much Chevron values us.

I have no idea who my HR rep is for the last seven years and I’m perfectly happy with that.

I got a call. Similar to a few years ago when all of the HRDP alums got a call to see if we are “happy”. Timely because there are several HRDP alums who have been leaving the company lately.

HR is one of those functions that will load up on diversity hires because they will cause a lot less damage than if they were in a real organization.

There’s no such thing as a “regrettable loss” in HR. At CVX they are all way overpaid and don’t contribute very much. I say let them walk, it’s not hard to find people with enough skill to do an HR job.

I got a weird email from mine. They wanted me to apply to a job I wasn't interested in.

Anyone else get a call from their GM? What did you say?

Morale is at an all time low in HR. CES scores were horrible. It's a train wreck! Most HR leaders were selected on gender or race. New delivery model isn't working. Good HR employees looking to jump ship. If things don't improve, the function is going to implode. Yes, I am in HR....

I hope the people called are honest and say that this is exactly what RM should expect within her organization when she:

1) Outsources the heart of HR to a service center
2) Downgrades all HR Mgr positions by at least 1 PSG
3) Ties the hands of all the HRBPs and removes their ability to actually do anything that the business needs HR to do

High performers want to perform and when you remove that ability, they’re going to leave and work elsewhere.

"Regrettable loss" is subjective. The people who the HR GMs would be sad to see go are pretty worthless in general and probably can't find a job elsewhere.

Only the HiPots will be called. The rest will be cannon fodder.

@uep+

Workplace is an echo chamber that those that hold contrarian views dare not post on.

All you need to do is check the address book for the name of the person that challenged our previous D&I director on the topic of Privilege. He's no longer here after the transformation.

Chevron: “What’s the reason you left?”
Former Employee: “You.”
Chevron: “Oh....”

This all roles back to MW and his push to promote people just on their gender and color of skin. Skills and qualifications mean nothing at Chevron anymore. We are now a company that is controlled by social media and optics.

"You should feel lucky that you have a job" says every over paid GM at Chevron.....oh by the way can you move to X shithole location for a lateral and no possibility for a promotion.
