Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Blue (Oval) smoke and mirrors

From Ford Authority: “Ford’s retail sales exceeded 2020 and 2019 sales levels. Our customers are really embracing our new electrified vehicle lineup. The all-new fully electric Mustang Mach-E and the F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid lifted Ford’s overall electrified vehicle sales to a record start in the first quarter with sales up 74 percent over a year ago,”

Didn't offer Mach-E last year and can't deliver this year.

Who writes this stuff?

A lot of people don't want an EV.

Our global overlords will try to pressure, persecute, and force EV's on those with EV hesitancy just like they do to those with "vaccine hesitancy".

I wander how much money Fords makes on a MACH E? Takeaway the subsidies. I see a big 74% number. but how many units did you sell? I remember one day I see on FCN sales up 200% in Ireland,, I look up sales they were 75 units in the whole country. GO FIGURE
I don't wish bad tidings for the big oval but stop with the BS. Farley is a clown. his body language tells many a people he does not even believe the bs coming out of his mouth. Change is driven at the top not at the bottom. Learn to lead,, provide a vision ad a plan. Guy is just not a leader Sorry.

While we are following our new administrations wishes for EV, from Ford Authority:
In recent months, both automakers and governments from around the world have been focusing on a future that consists entirely of electric vehicles. However, more than one recent report suggests that consumers aren’t quite ready to give up their ICE-powered vehicles just yet. Most recently, that includes SEMA’s Vehicle Landscape Report, which found that 74 percent of U.S. consumers want their next vehicle to be ICE-powered.

2020 sales exceeded 2019 sales! HAHAHA. That is BS... Any vehicles that leaves a plant is considered "sold" . Lies by omission. Thousands of built vehicles in storage holding lots, with build issues are considered "sold".

The amount of PR is inversely related to results.

Look at Toyota, iteratively improving their vehicles, growing their customer base.
Their Prius has sold well, has good resell value and now they have a Prius Prime that allows those who want to skip the gas pump to do so. My daughter’s Prius has 140k and not a single problem. Her friends also have Prius with zero problems, one has 290k miles on it.

The Toyota Miara (hydrogen) is impressive, but you would need to live in California where there are hydrogen pumps a plenty.

Nearly all the Toyota vehicles now have a hybrid option based on technology they perfected with the Prius.

It is funny how Ford and Tesla spend tremendous amount of time crowing. And seem to always start from scratch on new vehicle. And Toyota iteratively gets it done.

If we just don't listen to our customers, were good with EV's!

So sad that loyal customers will be "one and done" with Ford.

Another Edmund's pearl:

Richard, 01/27/2021

King Ranch 4dr SuperCrew 4WD 5.5 ft. SB (5.0L 8cyl 10A)
I waited three years and was excited as hell to get the new f—ng Ranch powerboost hybrid. Was loving it when on day five while driving down the highway The speedometer started reading zero all the warnings started flashing and two or three times while headed back to the dealership the throttle stopped working. Been in the shop for the last three days and they’re trying to figure out what’s wrong and how to fix it. Incredibly disappointing. They won’t give me a new one. Almost $80,000.

What do customers expect for $80? C'mon now. Still missing the "embrace" part (should have been "embarrassed")

From Edmunds:

Pat, 03/30/2021
Premium 4dr Hatchback w/Standard Range (electric DD)
Check If one phone call can help to resolve any issues. I am unable to start my car many times. Customer service is worst. Keep transferring call and asking all information again and no solution. They provide only one key and phone key doesn’t work many times. You can’t go anywhere if you don’t have real key. I am regretting by purchasing this car. Tesla is far better including customer service

Won't be a source of growth if this is how Ford EV customers truly feel. Didn't see the word "embrace" once.

Said Deep drops deep sayings while pumping Ford PR.

Said will circle back to say more lies shortly.

Most people don't want EV's but the great reset people are foisting them.
