Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Work from home

Do you think fiserv will allow work from home after covid? I hear my office in Dublin will close, but I don’t know what that means for my job

Frank, wake up...a lot of people do not want to go back to the office. You need more than a slow flexible joirney.

WFH is just a way of telling your management chain that you hereby volunteer to be a target for the next layoff round. I saw too many colleagues (pre–COVID) decide to WFH, only to find themselves on the chopping block come the next layoff round.

So no, do not WFH if you want to keep working at Fiserv.

The WFH isn't that flexible. I would start looking for your exit or have something lined up just in case you get 86'ed.

So ITSM would need to be in an office then

Depends on your job. No skill / low skill jobs that are easy to fill will definitely be required to report to an office by Fall

"Some jobs work from home, some work from an office, some hybrid. More flexible arrangement. "

Thats what we used to have! Then FB said no more WFH. He only put it off because of covid.

If you aint at a favored location, you are gone in 12-18 months.

Yeah, I bet the new flexible work from home policy will be 1 day a month to work from home and the rest you will have to travel into the office if you are within 100 miles of the nearest Fiserv facility. If, by some miracle, you work from home 100% of the time and don't get canned. I bet you will have to take a 5% paycut because you are not paying as to drive into the office.

My guess is that work from home will not be possible, and the original mandate of move close to an office or look for another job will kick into full swing again. FB hates WFH, and that will come through loud and clear soon. Also, all the old farts want to see people, and can't trust they are actually working to get their job done.

Plans are being finalized now for the return to office. Alpharetta will be first. Most likely on 7/1, but could change based on how situation unfolds.
