What exactly does a Manager Do?

"Placing blame on managers with the changes is not fair. It is home office who is making these changes. TL's do the schedules in our club, they also open the requisitions for jobs and do the coaching. Personally I think this is ridiculous. We have Leads that have no clue as how to do their job correctly."

Why are they getting paid at all, I was called to answer a manager call on the front end. There was one manager on the computer in the office as they always are and the other playing on there phone waiting for another manager to come off lunch so they could go home.

The member wanted money off something for a ridiculous reason and I just said sure, If Managers can't burden themselves with their own calls I sure as hell am not going to fight their fights.

As the person said above the leads have taken all of the managers responsibilities & now they don't answer their own calls, so why do they exist at all?

The games that my club managers have made is ridiculous. They are intentionally causing dismantling to certain areas of fresh. GM and one of the fresh managers in on it. The certain fresh manager has never liked the other and the gm has made it known of the distaste that have for that particular fresh managers. It’s a whole debacle, web of asinine bs. They made a few people go into positions they don’t want, And overall just lied, and lied. The amount of stuff that I could go into about a-z on all accounts would go on for too long.

I’m more so ranting here. My managers don’t do much else but play games. Those in the morning work for the first four hours, even the gm. But after that, all the managers, and the associates seem to be done for the day. Managers hiding out, associates too(for those that are merchandising)

You would need PT associates for TL to do schedules. Lmao. The irony of that situation. But nonetheless the unnecessary stress on clubs from HO is the biggest issue. HO gives direction but the direction they give is a great idea on paper. But the staff just isn’t there. Or the management / TL aren’t executing is correctly. To they’re not doing it at all. The reasons are variable but it’s totally a HO driven issue.

Honestly my TLs and fresh managers be letting us know our opportunities and be get in there and putting the work in and I'm so grateful for that because some clubs managers only point fingers and go sit in the personal office until something bad happens.

Most of the managers in our club carry their share. they are out on the floor working alongside associates. They still do the hiring, some of the scheduling, answering calls, help do resets, & most of the inventory prep.
Home office has put unrealistic loads on teams leads & hourly associates. Our managers realize that if they sat around and did nothing all day our club would go to c––p.
Clubs that have managers that don't help on the floor probably look bad & have high turnover.
