I worked with Fiserv more than 20 years and then left 2019(Just after merged with FirstData). After reading these blogs, I am so happy that I left Fiserv..

I am hearing that Schaumberg is closing (or already closed). That is a lot of people who will be scrambling to find a brick-and-mortar office to sit under FB's new (well, incredibly old, and out-dated) paradigm.

The same for Lake Mary. Where will they go if they have to find a brick and mortar seat?

Yeah but man those etg guys could party. And weekly travel with “shenanigans”. Kept the divorce lawyers busy

They want to close locations and data centers but do not fear they wont.

Everyone thinks this until it happens...

They want to close locations and data centers but do not fear they wont. They've been trying to do this since 2009 (remember that woman that JY hired to lead the newly formed ETG/FET). Well it never got done. Then 6 years later or so they had a spreadsheet detailing the dates data centers would be closed and merged. Never happened. All they ever accomplished was closing down some locations that were basically store fronts in basically strip malls. They've gone through at least 5 ETG leaders to get this done and all of them are gone. Now with the merger the number of locations and centers has exploded. Trust me they have no one competent enough to ever get that done.

"Reduce real estate expense. Create large campus location"

That's straight from a FD-er.

If you dont understand what this means - here it is.

  1. They are going to close a LOT of Fiserv facilities.
  2. Your job will be moved to a campus location (Omaha, FD Atlanta, New York).
  3. You will either apply for your old job at the campus facility and move there OR you will be fired (and that may happen anyway).

This is a red alert! Prepare to be RIF'd, It doesnt matter how experienced you are - I have been told that "we can fire anyone and then just hire new bodies at the campus".

Get your resume ready and start networking now...

Cheer squad is back. You know FB wanted to build more locations for Fiserv, and fired a bunch of WFH people. The only reason this is happening is because FB was forced to have everyone work from home. He realized the ship would still function with people working from home.

I all happened by accident, and wasn't part of FB's plan.

This is smart. Reduce real estate expense. Create large campus location where associates can actually have a career path, and allow more flexible arrangement, pretty smart moves!

This is no doubt exacerbated by the fact that I have steered away countless people from making the mistake of applying to Fiserv. By now, I reckon I have prevented a LOT of great talent from being wasted on Fiserv. ;-)

The only problem with the agile coaches is they have no talent to work with

Frank is big time. When you’re deadwood you don’t recognize it.

The only "Fiserv deadwood" to speak of is Frank and his team. They are driving the company straight into the ground while they celebrate fake Fortune awards, enlist their own associates to push Clover, pay NASCAR big fat chunks of money to advertise products, switch from SEC-regulated mutual funds to unregulated "collective trusts", funnel tons of money into affirmative action programs, and hire "Enterprise Agile Coaches" to push outdated methodologies in a frantic attempt at fixing software quality after having laid off all subject matter experts.

So they are firing everyone that was in the Lake Mary office then?

I see great potential here to reduce the cost of a major office building. WFH will work wonders here now ..... working to find a new job of course. So how many layoffs of Fiserv deadwood will FD find and eliminate?
