“It’s not what you know but who you know”. This is the absolute truth. I spent years at IBM and have been unemployed for a few months now. Luckily I ran into an old college buddy of mine and we met for drinks. Long story short - he offered me a position at his firm with no questions asked. I have to admit, it’s nice when for once something like this works in my favor.
