Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Do you have an EXIT plan?

The way that banking companies lay-off people is very cut throat. No one knows until they let you go, because it is a risk to the company if an employee knows they are going to get let go. I would recommend that you all have your exit plan in place, just in case.

This is the best advice, @8qev+1a2vXxS4

No, it just shows that people should move on from this s––t–show of a company. They don't care much for the employees, and want them to work for near free while the VP's take in their bonuses and fly around on company jets.

Those VP’s banked over a $100k each in stock options in February. You mad now bro?

I guess you are naive to the fact that OFD and OFS people are leaving in larger waves than before. I guess crayon drawing are not showing the real picture. A handful more engineers put in their two weeks on the OFS and OFD sides that had been with each company for several years. Hey continue sticking your head in the sand. Eventually you will get smacked in the face with pi—d customers that didn't get what they asked for in their contract, nor the super-sized bonus of increased outages due to changes that some VP's demanded.

Maybe one day this company will be desirable to work for again.

What a bunch of BS. Attrition is not higher still at all time lows. Engagement at high levels and a few bad apples and a few sour apples from OFS. That’s it will all resolve it self.

@7civ+1afXs5f7 People on both sides are not happy right now, and seeing higher than usual attrition. This is common when it comes to a poorly managed merger, but attrition is the friend of FB (No Severance package). In about 5 years things will gel a bit better as the Re-Orgs continue and teams that are still toxic will get dissolved. Buckle up snowflakes, it will be a rough 2021 as s–t hits the fan.

I’m willing to bet 90% of the negative posts are coming from OFS

I never had an exit plan. Because I figured that, being a single point of failure, I would never have to worry about it. But it ended up that, rather than getting me some help (doing the job of 2-3 ex-employees who had moved on and dumped their responsibilities in my lap), I was given the redundancy notice instead. I suppose my job went off-shore instead.

But having faced this situation more than once over the years, I knew to keep a ready supply of cash reserved. It didn't really matter because I wasn't out of work for more than a few weeks. Lucky, I guess.

If people are asking the question here about bonuses, and saying "Why the h–ldid I get missed with several other groups" especially since i got stellar end of year performance review?

Where the heck is my increase in pay and bonus you OFD cheerleading numb-nuts. These bonuses are fictional in some business units. I've been asking around in different groups across the company, and nothing seems to be rolling down hill the the regular workers.

People management at Fiserv is a joke with the new OFD group, and they don't care about your idea's. They just want "Yes" men to work overtime, and have no concept of work-life-balance. This must be another purchased award or the new management group is taking credit for awards that Jeff earned?

Funny none of your measures have anything to do with real business metrics..where are the real business people on this site? Fiserv is the #1 market leader in almost every business it operates, generates more free cash flow than 450 of the FORTUNE 500, has garnered every accolade given for people management practices and all that you list are smears, you must work for FIS or GLOBAL PAYMENTS...

No unlike the stupid system of paying out bonuses to different BU’S which was another dumb Yabuki practice the new FIserv under Frank and team pays bonuses based on team performance and includes everyone one. Please catch up to today’s practices vs the OFSV stupidity of old.

I wonder if the bonuses that were paid out were for specific BU's that were part of First Data. I heard they would get bonuses.

Not necessarily manager thing to get bonuses. I’m one and didn’t get one either. I already know a certain persons response to that. Don’t care what that person thinks. But agreeing with the other comments that certain BU’s getting it and not others. Very apparent now that they have been running their mouth on this thread. Creating a divide.

I think it is well said. A leader's results should stand for themselves. FB has taken from the pockets for 20,000 employees and gave to the other 20,000. Through bonuses and other things, from what i can see on this thread.

Fissurve is a great company by many measures.

  • #1 in outages
  • #1 in abusing and overworking employees
  • #1 in creative 401K bilking techniques
  • #1 in loss of money
  • #1 in incompetent leadership
  • #1 in outdated technology
  • #1 in paper pusher positions

Nobody here trying to convince anybody of anything. Fiserv is a great company by any measure. Just trying to ensure the misinformation peddled by haters doesn’t go uncorrected!

Bonuses were paid to SOME part cash, part stock that requires vesting. There were layoffs. Just because they were not covid related doesn't mean they didn't happen. I find it truly amusing how hard folks are working to sell the "greatness" of FB and Fiserv. Truly great companies and leaders don't have to be sold to employees, they speak for themselves through actions and results.

Well, every associate i talked with didn't get a bonus. This must be a management thing to get bonuses, and commissions would be at the VP level. The Living Proof awards were adjusted in the middle of the year to be like a maximum of $100. I'm not sure that counts.

I'm not sure what classifies as bonuses, but i can tell you as an employee. I lost more money out of my pocket in 2020 at Fiserv than i received. Maybe these bonuses were only for the First Data Folks or a specific group of people within Fiserv?

Have never had ‘an exit plan’ in my life. I come to work, do an honest days work, try to be a good teammate to all, control what I can control, don’t sweat the rest and have never been laid off. Getting laid off is nothing to be ashamed of happens at every COMPANY and yes sometimes without notice., just trying to point out that the new Fiserv hasn’t had one pandemic related layoff. Also the company paid 6-7 times more dollars in bonuses than the partial 401 match. This past year even though revenue was down $1.5 BILLION and no one earned a bonus, new mgt made a decision to pay hundreds of millions of dollars to associates. No mention of that, which was way more valuable than a partial 401K Match. Point is tell the full story be a person of fairness, and integrity. If the company doesn’t work for you because you don’t like that it try’s to drum up small business owners to purchase Clover at nascar events then leave. But for goodness sakes these post either exaggerate or commit the sin of omission.

Having an exit plan is a normal part of being a Fiserv employee. Everyone knows that they will be laid off at any time for no reason whatsoever. It has been this way for decades. Luckily we don't have to warn the new employees about the layoff threat, but that is because we do not have new employees.

@bfl+1afXs5f7 This is standard operating procedures for most companies in the financial industry to let someone go without prior notification or a hint. It isn't fear mongering. It is telling the truth of what happens at Fiserv/First data HR. It will also help those that are stuck at a company that takes from it's employee benefits to advertise/sponsor a Nascar and uses all that extra money to do a 1.6 billion on stock buyback instead of taking a sliver of that to do what is right for the hard working employees of the company.

We don’t need your advice. Who do you think you are to tell us what we should prepare for or do? Don’t need your bad advice to tell people to fear for a layoff when we haven’t even laid off during the entire pandemic. This is a great company sorry you don’t see it.
