Many reports of more employees getting let go given no packages.. Brace yourself its getting dirty now that the packages are from Cenovus!! Not Legacy Husky or Legacy Cenovus!! More layoffs were done this week under the radar!!

Severance is based on common law. You will get a package according to your service, level, and age unless you basically commit a crime at work.
Not really. You would expect a package on line with past ones or they know you would take them to court. They set a standard and they would be held to it.
One week per year is mandatory by law!! The rest is up to the corporation!!
Severance packages are mandatory based on years of service under Alberta Labour Laws. Employers are not required to pay 2-3-4 wks severance/year, only the amount mandated by law. No severance is required for contract employees. No severance is required for termination with cause. If someone was let go without a package they were either fired for cause or a contract employee, not staff.
