Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

BONUSES

Nike has never performed better on the digital front. Nike hasn't paid federal taxes for the last 3 years. Mass layoffs. Stock is soaring high. Outperforming market expectations. Facilities have far reduced overhead expenses. The list goes on. Savings everywhere. Making even more.

What do you think 2021 Bonuses will look like? Will we be rewarded for incredible efforts amidst a pandemic during the worst re-org in history, or will Nike find some excuse to pay nil.

We met H1 PSP goals meaning we are 50% there and we are guaranteed the % amount so far (of course depending on your performance). For those who are saying no bonuses.... really?!

They can’t go 2 years without giving APR. For those who were promoted during CDA and get APR, those are the luckiest ones.

Can everyone please think about who the audience is on this board. Please stop complaining about your future bonus that you will definitely be getting, when so many of us don’t even have a job.

I like this message board but sometimes some of you overreact and make a big stink of something that is 99% unlikely to happen.

Yes there will be raises this year. We didn’t get raises last year because Nike lost over a billion dollars in Q4 and the immediate future was very uncertain. Nike went into hunker down mode and even issued a few billion dollars worth of bonds to shore up liquidity. It was an exceptional time calling for exceptional measures. I was actually OK with it. Honestly at that point in time I was just happy to still have a job.

And yes we’ll get PSP. How much depends on the same factors that always come into play. And that calculation was already made a long time ago.

All of that said like you I also have a problem with the CEO taking in tens of millions of dollars during a year In which no one got a raise. That’s a bad look if you ask me.

Don’t be silly. Nike isn’t going to go a second year without pay raises. HR isn’t THAT dumb.

And more to the point the current labor market is again getting very tight, which means hiring qualified talent is starting to become difficult and salaries are generally going up rather than down. Especially for those with the most marketable skills.

As for PSP (bonuses) the formula Nike uses for deciding payout was already established by the Board and is based on a number of objective financial metrics. In other words, nothing anyone says here is going to have any impact either way on what PSP ends up being. But you already knew that, right?

If there aren’t full bonuses and pay increases it will be a mass exodus of employees doing a mic drop and leaving. Maybe JD should give up his multi million dollar salary and mega bonus so the actual workers can get a raise and bonus.

another year without inflation bump in pay I would think lots of people would leave. No need to work for a company where you make less every year.

I bet they'll do the bonuses, but no raises (again).
