I had to leave because I could no longer bear the pace of work. I started to suffer from psychosomatic illnesses because the stress was huge. I got a similar job at another bank and the difference is drastic. I have to say it feels very unusual to work in a much more relaxed environment, everything seems much easier. Now I feel as if I’m not doing anything because I’m used to anxiety and stress here. For those who are faced with health threatening issues: there is a very good life even outside of BOA!

I have heard the same from many employees that left BOA. They tell me the stress load at there current bank is far less. They have no regrets leaving BOA and wish they could have done it sooner.

I feel the same way.. My last job prior to working at BofA was 200% more stressful than here. Every chime on my phone I had to acknowledge.. My prior boss was big on micro-managing - I worked full 8 hours in my 12 hour day. It took my brian 1 year to slowdown before realizing; "Hey.. your no longer the go-to guy for that!!", "Stay in your Lane" and "Be Quiet - they have people for that.". - The only objection I have, back working for a TBTF-bank again is that there are so many chefs in the kitchen; and how do you overrule a head chefs objection? Just provide your boss with an update and wait for the outcome.. -one thing.. Don't let those critical skills you have learned go to waste and always learn new tech each year.. In my mind I know that I am still a "High Performer" - when I need to be...
We have WAY too many inexperienced chiefs that are the cause of the unnecessary stress.
